Crazy House || Book Review

Crazy House by James Patterson

I guess you could say I wasn't 'crazy' about Crazy House...sorry.
This book was hard to start and I couldn't finish. I gave it my best shot, going up to around 70% done, but I just had better things to do.

I was never crazy about the characters. Cassie, though she's an older sister and likes getting good grades (both things I can relate with) I just wasn't very in love with her.
Becca made me so mad (which I guess makes me and Cassie have something in common) and I just found her annoying.

The story just...didn't make sense?? Did they live in a sector on a different planet? Like a dome for farming? There were other domes for other things? Rebecca (Becca) went out with the bad kids. She gets kidnapped? It turns out she wasn't the right one and they were trying to kidnap goodie two shoes, Cassie? Becca is kidnapped and put on death row at a place called "Crazy House" where she is beat up all the time and forced to beat up other kids? I got pretty far with this book and I just couldn't see the point.

I really wanted to like this book. It was a gift I got on my birthday by a friend and I felt obliged to read farther than I wanted to, but I can only go so far, and I just didn't like it.

Funny story: I was in Science class with it (pre-quarantine) and the TA went up to me and was like "isn't that a great book? what do you think about it? James Patterson is such a good author." And I'm just like nervously smiling because I don't really like it so far and forced myself to take it to school with me so I might have more motivation to read it. Then he went on to recommend a few more books by the author he said I should read...

Two stars for this one! It was bearable but I didn't love it.
